Fundación Cibervoluntarios is a non-profit organization made by social entrepreneurs passionate about new technologies, communication and volunteering; we work day by day with the main objective of using new technologies to promote social innovation and the citizen empowerment. We want to maximize the rights, opportunities and capabilities of each person within their environment through the use of new technological tools and applications that are available for them.
Our bigger value is our Cibervolunteers, social change agents who contribute to promote the use and knowledge of technological tools among people with fewer opportunities to access and training ICT. They have an important role between local and global information society and the way they contribute is usually innovative and creative in order to detect problems and give solutions to the needs and demands within their area.
The Cibervolunteers teach the potential use of new technologies in a useful, simple and effective daily to groups with little chance of access and training, either through the network either in person, face to face, giving courses, lectures, conferences, workshops, events, seminars, among others.
In summary, the cibervolunteers work everyday to promote the empowerment of citizens through ICT. The objectives of the Foundation are:
1. To encourage the adoption and use of ICT by citizens, NGO and institutions.
2. To promote a responsible and appropriate use of content, services, tools and access to Information Society and Knowledge.
3. To promote the creation, training and mobilization of technological volunteers.
4. Creating social awareness: to generate positive social and cultural attitudes towards the importance of New Technologies for the development of society.
5. Remove any barriers that prevent knowledge and use of new technologies, especially the physical, social and cultural ones.
6. Encourage youth participation through ICT and the responsible use of these tools among them.
