The new Echegaray theatre opened this summer 2009 after being renovated by the City Townhall this building of 1932. This landmark building is situated in the surroundings of the Picasso Museum, the Cathedral, the Museo de Bellas Artes and Plaza de la Merced, known as the Isle of the Arts.

The result is a theatre with capacity for an audience of 300 people between stalls and two amphitheatres in which live a modern interior, with the latest technical developments and lobby with a facade that faithfully refer to the splendid and noble edifice built in the thirties of last century.
